Macomb junior Arianna Short (center) stands with other models in front of judges for Threads Judging Day in Wightman Hall on April 8.

Students will learn how to walk the runway at the Threads Fashion Show Model Workshop at 6 p.m., today in Finch Fieldhouse.

Model Director Leah Robinson said anyone interested in being a part of Threads in “anyway, shape or form” should attend. The Threads production class, FMD 357A, is requesting a $3 donation at the door.

The workshop is designed to teach students how to walk with the same confidence and posture of real life models, the Farmington Hills junior said.

“(An) important thing (about modeling) is to always have your head up and remain confident," Robinson said. "Even if you’re not confident, fake it till you make it."

Threads’ model committee will instruct participants on walking in various footwear, such as high heels. There will also be raffles and surprise giveaways throughout the evening.

“The event will teach students how to present themselves,” Threads Co-Producer Lauren Agnew said. “(They will learn) how to walk with the confidence that every model (has).”

The Model Workshop will be the final fundraiser before the show. The workshop is expected to be the biggest fundraiser yet, said Agnew, a Farmington Hills senior.
