Central Michigan University’s Program Board will host Canvas and Coffee at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16 in Wightman Hall 116.

The event will feature painting instruction led by Munising senior Megan McLaren. Free Starbucks coffee, lemonade and cookies will be provided.

There will be two paint sessions. The first session will start at 6:30 p.m. and the second session will take place at 8 p.m. All materials and refreshments are free with a student ID.

Each session can have a maximum of 35 people and is first come, first served.

The event is for beginner painters. The project students will be working on is an acrylic painting of a fall themed Flying C. The materials will be provided along with detailed instruction from McLaren.

Sophomore Olivia Franklin, Program Board’s special events director, came up with the idea this past summer. She said she wanted to see Program Board do something that incorporated art into CMU students’ lives.

This is the first time Program Board has hosted a Canvas and Coffee event.
