Moore named MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Central Michigan women's basketball senior forward Tinara Moore was selected as the Mid-American Conference West division player of the week, following her performance last weekend at the Junkanoo Jam hosted in the Bahamas.
Moore averaged 21 points and 15 rebounds per game over the course of the tournament, which CMU won with wins over San Diego State and Iowa State.
Moore's 27 points and 19 rebounds in the tournament opening win against SDSU powered the Chippewas back from a late seven point fourth quarter deficit to force overtime.
CMU and Moore will take a break from taking on schools from high caliber conferences like the Big Ten, Southeastern Conference and the Big Twelve as they face Aquinas College (National Association of Collegiate Athletics) on Thursday night at 7 p.m in McGuirk Arena.
