'Masterpiece in Motion: Threads Fashion Show'

Central Michigan University Threads Fashion Show presents 'Masterpiece in Motion' on Saturday, April 6, in Finch Field House. The fashion show is an annual student-run production that displays fashion designs from current students. The event showcases not only aspiring apparel designers but also student models.

Central Michigan University lacrosse power past Robert Morris University Sunday, April 7, at the LaCrosse Complex. The 13-6 win on home turf keeps CMU undefeated in MAC play. 

Baseball vs. Toledo game 2

After a 7-2 loss to Toledo Friday, Central Michigan Baseball rallied for a 10-9 win Saturday, April 6, during 'Hometown Heroes Day' at Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium. The teams will play the series decider at noon Sunday, April 7, in Mount Pleasant. 

CMU Baseball VS Toledo

The Central Michigan University baseball team fell to Toledo 2 to 7, Friday, April 5, at Keilitz Field. This brings the CMU record this season to 9-21.

Understanding Asian Identity

Students gather in Pearce Hall from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, to listen to international students from Asia talk about their experience in the United States during the Understanding Asian Identity event. This is one of the many events lined up for Asian Pacific Heritage Month at Central Michigan University. 

CMU Softball VS Toledo

Central Michigan's softball team faced Toledo for a doubleheader, Tuesday, April 2 at Margo Jonker Stadium. With CMU leading 3-2 at the top of the fourth inning, the game went into a rain delay and was soon canceled due to inclement weather.

Arab Fashion Art Gallery

Central Michigan sophomore Lena Kandah hosts the Arab Fashion Art Gallery where CMU students can explore traditional Arab clothing Tuesday, April 2, in the Bovee University Center. This event was one of many for Arab American Heritage Month 2024.

CMU Softball VS Oakland University

Central Michigan University's softball went head-to-head against Oakland University Wednesday, March 27, at Margo Jonker Stadium. After a tight game, the team fell to the Golden Grizzlies 3-2.

CMU Lacrosse VS Western Michigan

Central Michigan University’s Men’s Lacrosse team fell to the Western Michigan University Broncos 15-3, Friday, March 29 at Waldo Stadium, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Chippewas move to 0-7 overall.  

Baseball VS Saginaw Valley State

CMU's baseball team won against Saginaw Valley State with an overall score of (11-7), Tuesday, March 26, Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium. 

3rd Annual Henna Night

Shreya Abraham and Mahum Hakim host the 3rd Annual Henna Night where students gather to immerse themselves in the art and history of Henna, Tuesday, March 26 in the Bovee UC Rotunda.

CMU Office of LGBTQ Services & Gender Equity hosts Create Your Own Self-Care Package, Tuesday, March 26, in the Bovee UC Central Eats. 

Empowered Voices Panel

Multicultural Academic Student Services hosts Empowered Voices: Celebrating Women's History Month with Asian Leaders as part of Women's History Month and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month events Monday, March 25 in Sarah and Daniel Opperman Auditorium. CMU students Shreya Abraham and Mahum Hakim moderated the panel. Panelists discussed a variety of topics, including stereotypes, obstacles they've faced in their careers, the model minority myth and more. 

Day in the Life

For the second consecutive year, Central Michigan Life teamed with the School of Communication, Journalism and Media photojournalism program to document 24 hours in the lives of Central Michigan University and Mount Pleasant. The following photos were taken, one image an hour, from 3 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday. The final gallery will be printed in our April 2024 edition. 

DIY Teabag Workshop

Central Michigan junior Nikolay Aleksiev hosts Steeped in Tradition: DIY Tea Bag Workshop, Sunday, March 24, in Kulhavi Hall. Students were able to learn about tea leaves and create their own teabags. 

Annual "Celebrating Life" Pow Wow

Central Michigan University hosts this year’s Annual "Celebrating Life" Pow Wow, Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24, in McGuirk Arena. Singing, dancing, arts and crafts, and food were all parts of this event. Dancers, singers, and drummers competed, along with intertribals, where anyone was allowed to dance. 

Introduction to Hapkido: The Korean Art of Self-Defense

Central Michigan University presents Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month event Introduction to Hapkido: The Korean Art of Self-Defense on Thursday, March 21, in the MAC Gym. The event was hosted by CMU Multicultural Academic Student Services and Associate Professor Kevin Fisher led the demonstration. Hapkido is a form of self-defense that involves joint locks, kicks, punches, and different striking attacks. 

Refugee Outreach Collective Panel

ROC hosts the Refugee Outreach Collective panel where the voices of displaced students are heard, Wednesday, March 20, in Pearce Hall. ROC can be understood from its three pillars; education, advocacy, and outreach for those who are experiencing forced displacement. 

Wellness Workshop

Central Michigan University capstone class WGS496 hosts Wellness Works For Us: Intersectional Feminist Workshops on Wednesday, March 20, in the UC Terrace. The workshop allowed students to meet feminist RSOs and learn more about healthy behaviors. The event had a schedule of workshops, short presentations, and over 10 RSOs tabling. 

Women's Empowerment Forum

Women's Initiative of Strength and Hope (W.I.S.H) and the Office of LGBTQ Services and Gender Equity Programs host Women's Empowerment Forum: Navigating Women's Rights and Health as part of Women's History Month events Tuesday, March 19 in the Sarah and Daniel Opperman Auditorium. The four panelists discussed issues of sexism and racism in the medical field, as well as their personal experiences in their own fields.
