BLOG: First glimpse of new basketball floor in CMU Events Center
While the new CMU Events Center has not opened its doors to the public, highly-touted recruit Trey Zeigler has provided the first look at the venue's new basketball court.
In a Twitter post on Saturday, Zeigler posted a photo of the recently completed maroon and gold-themed floor.
The west end of the court's baseline was painted maroon, to go along with the arena's seating, while the east end, reserved for the student section bleachers, was painted gold. With the name change to the arena, the student section will now be known as "The Rowdies." A giant flying C dominates center court.
Season tickets and individual game tickets go on-sale to the public Tuesday. Chippewa Club members and returning season ticketholders were given the option of priority seating on Monday.
Tours of the new 5,300-seat Events Center will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Oct. 14. Reservations can be made by calling the CMU Athletics office at (989) 774-3041.
