Rain postpones CMU-Ball State softball opener; doubleheader set for Sunday
Rain has postponed the Central Michigan softball team's scheduled game against Ball State in Mount Pleasant.
Both teams took the field at Margo Jonker Stadium Saturday afternoon, but umpires made the call to postpone play after heavy rain began during the national anthem.
CMU and MAC West leader Ball State will play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Chippewas (22-13, 7-3 MAC) are tied with Eastern Michigan for second place in the MAC West, just behind the Cardinals (26-15, 6-2 MAC).
