Ron Jeremy in critical condition; 'Great Porn Debate' likely delayed
Porn star Ron Jeremy suffered a heart aneurysm on Tuesday afternoon, leaving him in critical condition and likely delaying his scheduled visit to Central Michigan University.
TMZ reported Wednesday afternoon that Jeremy is in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. He drove himself to the hospital himself after experiencing severe chest pains.
"Ron is currently in ICU recovering from two major heart surgeries today ... The surgeries went well," Ron's management team posted on his Facebook page at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. "... His doctors and his family now just want him to rest and have complete privacy."
Feb. 19's planned "Great Porn Debate," featuring Jeremy and anti-porn pastor Craig Gross, was one of a variety of sexual awareness programs Program Board is sponsoring in February.
MLive reported this afternoon that Jeremy's manager Mike Esterman said the CMU event has been put on hold. Esterman has yet to comment to Central Michigan Life.
Program Board director Damon Brown said Wednesday he had not heard anything about a postponement yet, and is awaiting communication with Ron Jeremy's agent.
Program Board agreed to pay $13,000 for Ron Jeremy's appearance and expected a large turnout for the event.
