Two junior members of the Central Michigan men's basketball team, John Simons and Rayshawn Simmons, share the court and team meals with each other during the season. Here are a few little known facts about the two CMU hoops stars.
What is your major?
Rayshawn Simmons: Sports Management
John Simons: Accounting
What is your pre game music selection?
Rayshawn Simmons: Right now, probably Future-their new mixtape. A little Kevin Gates and a little Nipsey Hustle. A bunch of rap.
John Simons: I actually don't listen to any music before our games.
What pre or post game meals do you eat?
Rayshawn Simmons: Pre game, we all usually get some pasta from Italian Oven. Post game, I usually wind up going to Firehouse Subs.
John Simons: I always get the chicken alfredo from Italian Oven.
What was it like growing up as an athlete?
Rayshawn Simmons: I remember just putting in all the time, traveling and being with my friends. Joking and having fun.
John Simons: I would always look up to Peyton Manning as my favorite athlete.
Pepsi or Coke?
Rayshawn Simmons: Pepsi.
John Simons: Coke.
Favorite restaurant in Mount Pleasant?
Rayshawn Simmons: It's got to be Applebee's. With those half-off apps, I really enjoy going there.
John Simons: Jimmy Johns.
Freshman year residence hall?
Rayshawn Simmons: I transferred my sophomore year but I lived in Celani and probably would have if I was a freshman here, too.
John Simons: Celani.
Xbox One or Playstation Four?
Rayshawn Simmons: I'm a Playstation guy. I've had all of them.
John Simons: I don't have either of them.
What was your proudest moment on the court in general?
Rayshawn Simmons:In high school playing against my best friend. I scored 35 points against him and he had 40 against me-we kept going back and forth.
John Simons: My first game here, stepping onto the court for the very first time.
