There’s still more than seven months until the college bowl season begins, but ESPN’s already released its first projections.

Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy each released their own picks, and only McMurphy included Central Michigan on his postseason list. He has the Chippewas playing in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Fresno State.

Both analysts agreed on four Mid-American Conference teams advancing to a bowl game–Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, Toledo and Western Michigan. Schlabach also included Akron and Ball State.

MAC teams went 2-3 in bowl games in 2014.

The Chippewas have been eligible to participate in bowl games the past three seasons (must be 6-6 or better), but were only chosen in 2012 to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl and 2014 to the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl.
