Man arrested, arraigned on multiple gun-related charges after confrontation in Mount Pleasant apartment complex


The Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a report at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday of man pulling out a loaded pistol during a confrontation in Park Place Apartments.

Jared Thrush, a 30-year-old Ohio man admitted to having a confrontation with several subjects in the parking lot of Park Place Apartments. 

According to a release form the MPPD, a friend of Thrush’s was leaning on a vehicle in the parking lot and an argument ensued between Thrush’s friend and the victim. The argument was defused and the victim left. 

The victim and some friends then returned to the parking lot, which is when Thrush reached into his vehicle and removed a pistol and a magazine. According to the release, Thrush placed the magazine into the pistol, pointed the pistol at the victim and waived the gun back and forth.

An officer observed the suspect’s vehicle passing at a high rate of speed as they appeared at the scene. The officer conducted a traffic stop and noticed Thrush showed signs of intoxication. He told officers he had a loaded pistol in the vehicle, which officers recovered.

Thrush was lodged at the Isabella County Jail and was arraigned June 21 on charges of weapons-carrying concealed; assault with a dangerous weapon,  weapons-felony firearm, weapons-firearms possession under the influence, operating while intoxicated and assault or assault and battery. 

Thrush remains in the Isabella County Jail with a bond of $30,000/ten percent.
