Coming off of a dual-meet victory over Virginia last weekend, No. 14 Central Michigan wrestling returns to individual competition at the Michigan State Open on Sunday.

The Open includes Big Ten Conference teams such as Michigan State, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State.

The team is looking to build off of the success from its last tournament at Eastern Michigan earlier this month.

Six Chippewa’s were fighting for first place in their weight class, but only junior Colin Heffernan (157) came out victorious. With a 6-0 record, Heffernan, the reigning MAC Wrestler of the Week, is looking to remain unbeaten.

The Michigan State Open starts at 9 a.m. Sunday at Jenison Field House in East Lansing.
