Rapid Reaction: NIU 89, CMU 66
In the rematch against Northern Illinois, Central Michigan fell to the Huskies 89-66.
This was the fourth-straight loss for the Chippewas. The loss brings their to 16-12 overall and 6-9 in Mid-American Conference play.
CMU trailed by 16 points at halftime, and were unable to overcome the deficit in the second half.
Braylon Rayson became CMU's all-time leader in made 3-pointers in the loss, a record previously held by John Simons. The senior had 10 points including two 2-pointers.
Junior forward Cecil Williams scored 15 points shooting 4-of-6 from the field. Williams added seven rebounds and one assist. Junior Marcus Keene finished with 18 points.
CMU has three games remaining in the regular season before the MAC Tournament begins March. 6.
The Chippewas take on Toledo at 6 p.m. Friday in Ohio.
