Softball picks up fourth win in Madeira tournament finale

For the second straight game, the Central Michigan softball has only needed to rely on a single pitcher.

Senior Rachael Knapp pitched her second complete game of the weekend in the Chippewas' 7-0 win against Sienna Sunday in Madeira, Florida. In addition, the win marks Knapp's second consecutive shut out.

Knapp had a season high 14 strikeouts in her effort, allowing only five hits and one walk. CMU out-hit Sienna 7-5, while also forcing seven walks to Sienna's one.

The Chippewas finished their road trip with a 4-1 record and improve to 4-6 overall after beginning the season 0-5. A two-week break is on deck for the Chippewas as they won't be in action until Friday, March 3 against Hartford in a weeklong tournament in Clearwater, Florida.
