Softball's seven-game win streak ends with 4-6 loss to Georgia State


Following a seven-game win streak Central Michigan softball maintained during two separate road trips to Florida, Georgia State gave the Chippewas their first loss in two weeks.

Five CMU batters were left on base in the 4-6 loss against the Panthers out of the Sun Belt Conference. CMU falls to 8-7 on the season.

Starting pitcher Hanna Warren pitched two innings for the Chippewas, recording five strikeouts, four hits and three walks. The loss takes Warren to 1-4 on the year.

CMU ace, senior pitcher Rachael Knapp, relieved Warren after 2.1 innings and pitched of the remainder of the game. Knapp finished with seven strikeouts. 

Junior Lacey Tolfree and junior Maison Kalina led Central Michigan with two hits each and three runs between the two of them.

The Chippewas will have a one day break and take on Pennsylvania at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Clearwater, Florida.
