During the 2017 season with the Central Michigan football team, former student and senior tight end Tyler Conklin logged 35 receptions for 504 yards and five touchdowns.

On Jan. 18, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound athlete signed a deal with Element Sports Group in hopes of making it to the National Football League.

Even though Conklin’s time as a Chippewa is up, he has one more collegiate game to play. He will take part in the 2018 Reese’s Senior Bowl on 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 28. The bowl will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.

Conklin earned 1,159 yards and 11 touchdowns on 83 receptions over his career.

In 2017, Conklin missed the first five games due to an injury. He earned Third-Team All-Mid-American Conference honors.
