Maintenance, renovations to continue during spring break

Spring and winter breaks are used by Facilities Management to continue ongoing renovation projects without inconveniencing students, faculty and staff.

Next week, a majority of renovation and maintenance projects will take place in the Bovee University Center, said Vice President of Facilities Management Steve Lawrence.

Maintenance will be done during spring break and continue throughout the month on the University Center Auditorium in room 302, which is scheduled to reopen May 1. Upgrades will be made to seating, carpet, epoxy floor chip paint and a paint job to walls and the ceiling at the cost of $120,000.

The third floor hallway and meeting rooms 305, 307 and 309 in the University Center will also be re-carpeted at the cost of $28,000.

The Student Services Court in the University Center Room 119 will be re-carpeted at the cost of $18,000. Billing services and cashier will be temporarily relocated during the project to the Central Card Office in room 209. All remaining staff will be temporarily relocated to the University Center Mackinaw Room during the project.

Flooring, electrical for food warming area and new furniture will be added to the Registrar Conference Room in Warriner 312 at the cost of $87,000.

Carpet, paint, furniture and window treatment maintenance will continue in Rowe Hall Room 108 and 109, at the cost of $121,000.
