Last day to withdraw from classes on Friday
The last day to drop an individual 16-week on-campus course is midnight on Friday, Nov. 4.
Students who wish to withdraw from an individual course or a complete semester will receive an automatic "W" on their transcript. Withdrawals can be processed by logging into their student account under course registration.
Students with questions about withdrawing from a course should meet individually with their professor or can contact the Registrar's Office at (989) 774-3261, said Kay Rice, assistant director of records.
About 2,000 students withdraw from online courses each semester, Rice said. As of 11 a.m. on Nov. 2, 1,563 students have withdrawn from courses this semester, and Rice expects about 500 more will withdraw before the deadline.
Students who withdraw from a course will not be refunded and will be charged the full amount for the class, she said.
"At this point, what we recommend is the student works with the instructor and see if withdrawing is the best option," Rice said.
Courses taken through Global Campus, including online courses, have different drop and withdrawal deadlines from main campus courses.
No individual class withdrawals can be made after the Friday deadline.
