Morris earns MAC West Offensive Player of the Week honors, finalist for Manning Award

Shane Morris has earned national recognition for his performance at Kansas on Saturday. 

The graduate transfer quarterback was selected as the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week on Monday. Morris was also named a finalist for this week's Manning Award, which is given to the top quarterback performance. 

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Morris completed 28-of-37 passes for five touchdowns in the Chippewas' 45-27 win at Kansas. His 467 yards passing were the third-highest in program history. 

Morris is one of eight finalist for the Manning Award, which is voted on by the fans and announced Thursday at 11 a.m. Other finalists include Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, UCLA's Josh Rosen and last year's Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson (Louisville).
