Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates (SAPA) will host a midnight skate from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 am Nov. 29 at the Isabella County Ice Arena.

“Skate With a SAPA” is a fundraising event sponsored by the Student Government Association in an effort to provide funds for SAPA. Entry tickets cost $5 and skate rentals are an additional $2. Grilled cheese will also be sold for $1 and all attendees will be entered into a raffle for gift cards.

According to the SAPA webpage, “SAPA is a survivor-centered and trauma-informed, paraprofessional student organization that serves those affected by sexual aggression through 24/7 services during fall and spring semesters, including a confidential support line, online chat service and direct in-person services.”

This midnight skate will act as an opportunity for the community to connect with SAPAs and apply to join their organization if interested.

“Come hang out with SAPAs and learn more about who we are and what we do, or just enjoy a midnight skate with your friends,” Katie Parks submitted in a Central Michigan University Student News email.

Additional event details are on the “Skate with a SAPA” Facebook page.
