Hannah DeMers named MAC Gymnast of the Week
For the 10th time in four years, Central Michigan gymnast Hannah DeMers was named Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week.
The honor followed her senior night performance on Feb. 3 against Eastern Michigan where DeMers placed first, set season highs and matched her career high on bars and floor with a score of 9.950 in both events.
She tied for first on vault with a 9.825 and had a season-best on beam with a 9.800 earning her fourth place on beam.
She also placed first in the all-around category, setting a season-high with a score of 39.525, just shy of her career best of 39.550.
DeMers helped the Chippewas to a 3-0 MAC record, putting them in first place in the MAC.
CMU will compete on the road Sunday in Ames, Iowa against Iowa State at 1 p.m.
