Coming up from 1-3 p.m. this Sunday, April 23, is a “Learn, Shop, Grow” vendor collaborative in Finch Fieldhouse, room 113.

Kaitlin Otteman and four other Central Michigan University students in the Recreation, Parks and Leisure 430 class have been working throughout the Spring 2023 semester to put this event together.

“My team and I have put in a lot of hours and effort,” Otteman said.

The shopping and learning opportunity will feature 22 small and local businesses, including some from individuals on campus.

Otteman said the event was intentionally planned for Earth Day weekend because sustainability is a main theme.

Central Sustainability will be tabling at Finch on Sunday, so attendees can learn more about what sustainability looks like on campus.

“It’s a walk-through format, so you do not have to stay the whole time,” Otteman said.

In addition to shopping, the event will also have free activities, like flower pot painting and DIY trail mix.

Participants can also purchase raffle tickets for prizes and gift cards, with the winners announced halfway through the event.

Otteman said there is no entry fee to attend.

“We wanted to make sure this event is accessible for everyone,” Otteman said.
