GALLERY: Men's Basketball vs Michigan

CMU's men's basketball team defeated Michigan 63-61 on Thursday, Dec. 29 at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. This is CMU's first win in Ann Arbor since 2007 and the twenty-sixth time the two teams played each other. 

GALLERY: Late Night Breakfast

CMU Student Activities hosts a Late Night Pre-Finals Breakfast Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Bovee University Center. The event included a pancake bar, breakfast taco bar, and a donut wall for students to enjoy. With finals week beginning on Monday, the event gave students a place to de-stress, socialize, and study.

GALLERY: LGBTQ Mixer

Students decorate ornaments, enjoy appetizers, and hot chocolate at the LGBTQ+ Holiday Mixer, Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the CSID. Hosted by the Office of LGBTQ Services & Gender Equity Programs and Spectrum, the LGBTQ+ Holiday Mixer was organized for the community to enjoy themselves before the semester ends.

Members of Student Advocates for Prison Reform and the Incarcerated (SAPRI) make holiday cards for prisoners during their last meeting of the semester, Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Anspach 255. 

GALLERY: Holiday Activities Night

CMU Program Board hosts 'Holiday Activities Night,' Monday Dec. 5, in the Student Involvement Center. The events included events such as gingerbread houses, ornament decorating, and holiday cookies available to participants. 

GALLERY: Painting with a Twist

Women's Initiative for Strength & Hope (W.I.S.H) hosts 'Painting with a Twist' event, Monday Dec. 5, in Pearce 137. The event included canvases, acrylic paints and hot chocolate. 

GALLERY: Blue & White Christmas Party

The CMU chapters of Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta host 'Blu & White Christmas Party,' Monday Dec. 5, in Kulhavi 146. The chapters collected donated toys and gloves for children in need, while also enjoying card games and pizza.

CMU Men's basketball beat Alma 89-50 Saturday, Dec. 3 in McGuirk Arena. The team's record is now 4-4 this season.  

GALLERY: Mount Pleasant's Christmas Celebration

Mount Pleasant's annual Christmas Celebration took place on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 in downtown Mount Pleasant. On Friday, the streets of downtown Mount Pleasant were lined with lights and a winter market where vendors sold handmade soaps, Girl Scout cookies, gourmet cheeses and more. Kids also enjoyed games in Candy Cane Lane, visits with Santa and family hayrides. This year, the MountainTown Family Chorus performed, drawing a large crowd around the stage to listen to Christmas carols. The celebrations continued Saturday morning with a 5k run and a pancake breakfast with Santa. The day ended with crowds lining the downtown streets for the Lighted Christmas Parade.

GALLERY: Student Choreography Showcase

In preparation for the show, the CMU Department of Theatre and Dance performed the Student Choreography Showcase final run through, Saturday, Dec. 3, in the Bush Theatre. The final event later that night was free and highlighted the talents of dance majors and minors with the opportunity for them to choreograph and/or star in dances. 

Gallery: Black Males Rock Awards Show

The Black Males Rock Award Show of 2022 highlights outstanding black male students in multiple categories of recognition, Friday Dec. 2, in the Powers Ballroom. Students were recognized in many categories from "The Community Builder" to "The Man of the Year Award."

Gallery: Club Hip Hop, Infusion Dance Team Hold Semester Recital

Infusion Dance Team and Club Hip Hop perform in their first semester recital, Friday Dec. 2, in the Rose Center. Both teams performed various dance styles, Vice President Jenna Spanola said she "hopes that we can do this again in the future but on a larger scale."

GALLERY: Holidays Around the World

CMU students and faculty attend the Holidays Around the World food tasting event on Friday, Dec. 2 in Rowe Hall. The event featured stations with holiday food from different countries around the world.
