GameAbove Sports Bowl - Feature
The Central Michigan Chippewas were defeated by the Northwestern University Wildcats 34-7 in the GameAbove Sports Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit, on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025. Despite a scoreless first quarter that featured a strong defensive stop early and a missed 43-yard field goal, three consecutive CMU turnovers gave 21 unanswered points to the Wildcats. The Chippewas' offensive woes eventually stopped when Central Michigan redshirt freshman running back Brock Townsend caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Central Michigan redshirt senior quarterback Joe Labas for CMU's first points of the game. The Chippewas' season will end with a 7-6 record, 5th in the MAC, and above .500 for the first time since 2021.
