Inaugural Central Michigan University Fall Photo Workshop
The “Inaugural Central Michigan Fall Photo Workshop,” the first-ever workshop of its kind in coordination between Central Michigan University’s journalism department and Central Michigan Life’s Student Media Board of Directors, took place during Central Michigan’s Homecoming football game against Akron at Kelly/Shorts Field on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026.
Students gained hands-on experience working with professional photojournalists and learned how to photograph football, position themselves on the field and use telephoto lenses. Most of the photojournalists who coached at the workshop were CMU alumni, including MLive's Jake May and Isaac Ritchey, and Houghton Lake Resorter's Krista Tacey-Cater.
