Softball loses first game of doubleheader with Oakland

The Chippewas fell in the first half of a doubleheader today 4-2 against Oakland at Margo Jonker Stadium.

Junior Kari Seddon finished with 10 strikeouts on the game, but could not overcome a rough start in the first inning.

Oakland put three runs across in the top half of the first on just one hit and added one more in the sixth on a home run to center field by Leah DiCristofaro.

The Chippewas' rally fell short when senior Katie Greenman struck out with two runners on in the bottom of the seventh.

Sophomore Brittany Doyle (8-9) went all seven innings for the Golden Grizzlies to get her eighth win of the year.

Seddon falls to 6-4 with the loss.
