Deborah Biggs named first College of Medicine associate dean


Deborah Biggs will begin as the associate dean of administration and finance for the College of Medicine in about a month.

Biggs, currently assistant dean for academic affairs for the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, is the first associate dean named for the College of Medicine and will join incoming College of Medicine Dean Ernest Yoder in mid-June according to a press release.

She was named Tuesday by Provost Gary Shapiro.

“Ms. Biggs has extensive experience in a wide variety of medical settings at both the University of Michigan and the University of North Carolina,” said Shapiro  in the press release. “She is a fine addition to the strong leadership team we are developing to lead our College of Medicine."

According to the press release she will have an annual salary of $210,000.
