BRIEF: "Legends of the Dark" Haunted Campus Tour

With Halloween right around the corner, why not get acquainted with the ghosts and spirits who call Central Michigan University's campus home?

Trout Hall has made this possible for students, with its 18th annual "Legends of the Dark" haunted campus tour.

These haunted tours aren't all fun and games, though, as Trout Hall is scaring up some serious funds this Halloween for local charities.

During the tour, zombie-like guides take turns bringing groups around campus to tell them about the myths of different areas, from ghost hauntings in Barnes Hall to buried bodies under the Carlin Alumni House.

Tours last about an hour and provide many unexpected and thrilling surprises to those attending.

These tours have been successful so far, and on Wednesday they had audiences screaming in fear as undead, zombie-like volunteers gave guests an experience they won't soon forget.

A few major stops on the tour include Sloan Hall, Finch Field House and Warrnier Hall. One of the most goose bump-inducing stops was outside the new graduate housing, which happens to be the site of an old residence hall, where groups are told an old spirit dwells.

Tickets for this haunted extravaganza are $5 and the profits will contribute to Trout Hall philanthropy. This year, the recipient of donations will be Mount Pleasant's Mobile Food Pantry.

Tours will also be available from today 7:30 p.m. to 10:20 p.m., leaving every 10 minutes from the Bovee University Center Down Under Food Court.
