CMU Bookstore wants students’ rival university shirts

Central Michigan University students holding on to T-shirts from rival schools will be able to trade in those unwanted rags for shirts of maroon and gold at the CMU T-shirt Exchange next week.

The Student Government Association has partnered with the CMU Bookstore to encourage school spirit and help students proudly display the school colors.

From Sept. 2 until Sept. 5, student can bring a shirt from another university to the CMU Bookstore and receive a CMU shirt at no cost.

“We’re encouraging students to show some school spirit and trade in any shirt they have from another university,” said SGA President Charles Mahone. “The bookstore had this event last year but not many people knew about it.”

The shirts traded in will be donated to Goodwill locations near the schools the shirts represent. Michigan State University shirts will go to Lansing Goodwill and Western Michigan University shirts will go back to Kalamazoo.

Shirts will be accepted 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sept. 2, 3 and 4 and 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sept. 5.

Shirts are available while supplies last.
