The Isabella County Commission on Aging, along with the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Department, collected 11 lbs. of pills during a prescription drug drop-off event May 28.

The drop-off was an opportunity for residents to properly dispose of any outdated or unused prescription drugs in an effort to assist in the reduction of abuse and limiting access to prescription medications. The event ensured prescriptions were dropped off in a safe manner, and out of the hands of people who may misuse them. Dropping off pills also keeps them from entering landfills and groundwater.
