Central Michigan University Facilities Management said there will be an emergency electrical outage at noon for 10 to 15 minutes.

Steve Smith, director of public relations said the electric outage is due to a 13,000 watt cable that has been pinched between two cables, construction workers need to free the cable to avoid an electric shortage.

The outage will only affect buildings south of Broomfield; Athletics Complex, Indoor Athletic Complex, the Events Center, Kelly/Shorts Stadium and Theunissen Stadium.

Kewadin Village will also experience a momentary interruption. Nothing north of Broomfield will be affected.
