An early-morning car accident on Tuesday on Bluegrass Road left one dead and two injured.

Police say alcohol appears to be involved in the crash, which killed Guadalupe Rodriguez, a 43-year-old man from Grand Ledge. Rodriguez was the driver of the 2009 Pontiac G6 that ran off the road, hit a telephone pole, ran through the parking lot of AT&T and rolled over a couple of times.

The Isabella County Sheriff's Department said alcohol was involved in the crash.

Kimberly Compo, a 41-year-old Grand Ledge woman, was injured in the accident and taken to McLaren Central Michigan. She was later flown to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids by an Aero Med helicopter.

Tom Epps Jr., a 24-year-old Mount Pleasant man, was also injured and taken to McLaren.

Police say Rodriguez and Compo were wearing seat belts, but Epps, who was in the back seat, was not.

The pole Rodriguez hit was a power pole, and left nearly 1,000 people in Mount Pleasant without power this morning. Power has been mostly restored.
