Following a four-game road stretch, the Central Michigan University field hockey team finally had a chance to play at home Friday against the UC Davis Aggies for another shot at its first win of the season.

The first half ended scoreless, but within the first minute-and-a-half of the second half, senior middle fielder Kaysie Gregory scored for CMU off an assist by freshman backfielder Ally Davis.

After a 20-minute scoring drought on both sides, the Aggies struck back in the 58th minute when UC Davis forward Jamie Garcia scored a goal off a penalty corner shot.

The game would stay even through the end of regulation and the Chippewas headed into their first overtime of the season.

During overtime, Aggies forward Kayla Wigney scored the sudden death goal to give CMU their seventh loss on the year.

The Chippewas have a week off before playing their final nonconference game of the season against Longwood on the road next Friday.
