International Student Organization to host Sports Weekend

The International Student Organization will host ISO Sports Weekend 2015 on Friday and Saturday at the Student Activity Center.

So far, eight soccer teams, four volleyball teams and two basketball teams, in addition to individuals playing pool, table tennis and chess, have signed up to compete.

After the league games from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, teams and individuals will compete in semi-finals and finals from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. A ceremony will follow the finals, with a trophy being awarded to the winning team from each sport. Individuals on the winning teams will receive medals. ISO president Jillur Rahim said they will also be giving away gift cards to three attendees this year.

"ISO keeps the event open for anyone, including American students, so that people from different countries can interact with each other," Rahim said. "Every year we see that teams and individual players from a wide range of countries win championships."

The event is open for anyone to attend.
