Four women's basketball players earn All-MAC honors


Four Central Michigan women’s basketball players earned recognition for their play during the Mid-American Conference regular season on Monday.

Freshman guard Presley Hudson and sophomore forward Tinara Moore were selected to the All-MAC second team. Hudson was also named to the All-MAC freshman team and Moore was named to the All-MAC defensive first team.

Moore finished the regular season with 16 double-doubles and averaged a team-high 16 points per game and recorded a league-high 10.8 rebounds during conference play.

Hudson was third on the team in scoring during the MAC regular season averaging 13.8 points and 3.4 assists per game. She also shot 87.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Junior Jewel Cotton was named Co-MAC Sixth Player of the Year along with Toledo’s Kaayla McIntyre. Cotton averaged 8.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. She scored a season-high 20 points in CMU’s season finale win against Eastern Michigan.

Freshman Reyna Frost was also named to the All-MAC freshmen team. Frost averaged a double-double scoring 10.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, which ranked her fourth in the MAC.

The Chippewas finished the regular season 20-9 overall, and 14-4 in the MAC. The team clinched the second seed in the MAC tournament and will take on either Northern Illinois or Western Michigan in the quarterfinals Wednesday.
