For the seventh year, Central Michigan University athletes, coaches and athletics administrators will participate in the "Chippewa Challenge" golf outing to raise money for CMU athletics.

According to a press release, the event begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Bucks Run Golf Club, Pohlcat Golf Course and Mount Pleasant Country Club.

Participants will have the chance to golf with members of CMU athletics, receive a CMU Adidas item and a "Chippewa Challenge" pint glass.

After the outing, Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort will host a silent auction along with dinner and drinks. There will also be awards presented to CMU athletes for work on and off the field.

Golfers and sponsors raised over $110,000 in 2015. The goal this year is to raise $150,000 for "CMU student-athletes while providing the athletic department and partners with promotional opportunities that will continue to elevate (CMU's) brand on statewide, regional and national levels," according to the release.

The registration fee is $175 per person or $700 per group of four.
