Annual Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Pow wow to begin Friday


The 32nd annual Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Pow wow will take place July 29 - 31.

The event is located at the Tribal Campgrounds 7525 E. Tomah Rd in Mount Pleasant. Entry times for the event are 7 p.m. on Friday, noon and 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

The event will host tribes from across North America. Dressed in colorful regalia, they dance to intertribal songs played with traditional instrumentation.
Pow wows are the Native American people's way of meeting together to dance, sing and visit. They are a method to preserve the heritage of American Indians. 

Non-Tribal members may attend the Powwow to learn about the history and heritage behind the Tribe.
Admission is free.

Entry Times:

Friday: 7 p.m.

Saturday: noon and 6 p.m. 

Sunday: noon
