With a little more than a month left until Central Michigan football returns to Kelly/Shorts Stadium for its home opener against Presbyterian, the Mid-American Conference will hold its annual Football Media Day on July 28 at Ford Field in Detroit.

The event will be from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Representing CMU will be second-year Head Coach John Bonamego, senior quarterback Cooper Rush and senior safety Tony Annese. Every head coach in the MAC will be in attendance.

Along with the coaches and players, MAC Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher will address the press at 11 a.m. All players and coaches will be available after.

Last year, Steinbrecher opened his State of the Conference with a history of MAC football, announcing that 2015 would mark the 69th year it would be played. He welcomed Bonamego as a new head coach to the MAC and wished him the best of luck battling cancer, which he has since beaten.

Steinbrecher also touched on the MAC producing All-Americans, Academic All-Americans and preparing student-athletes to handle their sport and a full load of classes. He spoke for around 20 minutes and then answered questions from the media for 10 minutes.

A live broadcast of MAC Media Day will be available on ESPN3.
