Central Michigan football kicked off its season tonight against Presbyterian at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
CMU jumped out to an early first half lead, scoring on a 69-yard touchdown run from junior running back Devon Spalding. Spalding tallied 101 yards rushing in the first half.
Senior running back Jahray Hayes scored another touchdown for CMU with a 2-yard scamper in the second quarter.
Presbyterian scored three points late in the second quarter on a 36-yard field goal after a string of turnovers.
At halftime, CMU leads Presbyterian 14-3.
