First half by the numbers: Toledo 3, CMU 0


After one half of football, Toledo is ahead in a defensive battle against Central Michigan 3-0.

The Rockets scored the first points of the game on a 34-yard field goal that capped off an 11 play, 64-yard drive.

CMU's defense has been able to keep Toledo's potent offense in check, limiting it to yards 152 yards of total offense. The Rockets came into today averaging more than 565 yards per game. 

Toledo's defense has been able to limit CMU's ability to move the ball as well, keeping the Chippewas to 133 yards and zero points. 

The biggest play for the Chippewas' offense came on a fake punt when sophomore punter Jack Sheldon completed a pass to sophomore defensive lineman Nate Brisson-Fast for a 18-yard first down. 

CMU nearly scored at the end of the half, but junior running back Devon Spalding fumbled the ball out of the back of the end zone reaching for the goal line, resulting in a turnover. Spalding left the game following the play with an injury.
