Pre-graduation advising split among colleges this semester

Pre-graduation academic services moved from the Registrar’s Office on the second floor of Warriner Hall to the academic advising centers within the six academic colleges on Central Michigan University’s campus this semester.

“What changed is the folks that did these audits are now dispersed in the academic colleges,” said Amy Faber, the Registrar’s Office assistance director.

A pre-graduation audit helps students identify what classes they need to graduate, Faber said.

Online and satellite-located students can still receive audits in the Academic Advising and Assistance in Ronan Hall Room 250.

An announcement of the adviser location change was sent out Sept. 8 by Michelle Howard, the executive director of academic advising and assistance. Faculty and staff were notified of the change but students were not, Faber said.

The change does not apply to graduation audits. The online graduation process has not changed from last year.

Students who applied for May graduation audits before the Sept. 15 deadline should receive their audit via email before Dec. 16, Faber said. The deadline for August graduation in 2017 is Jan. 15, according to the Apply for Graduation page on Central Michigan University’s website.
