Registration for the second annual Multicultural Student Leadership Conference closes on Feb. 3.

The conference will be on Saturday, Feb. 18, and intends to aid students in exploring multiculturalism and leadership development. The event involves a series of workshops throughout the day, and includes presentations from 20 different speakers and a panel discussion --- focusing on leadership, networking and finances.

The student led conference, hosted by the Office of Institutional Diversity, Inclusion and Equality, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bovee University Center.

Students can register through the Multicultural Academic Student Services page on Orgsync. Registration is free to all CMU students.

Chicago junior Dyese Matthews, PR chairperson for the conference, said the tagline this year is “Enhancing your potential through leadership.”

“It’s just a different way to socialize primarily,” Matthews said. “This is a way to (socialize), but also learn how to do stuff that will get you where you need to go. Help you learn how to talk to that professor and ask for extra credit or ‘how do I do better’. It’s a way to meet new people but also better yourself.”

Students who are also interested in volunteering at the event can context Dyese Matthews via email.
