Four women's basketball players take home all home All-MAC honors

Junior forward Tinara Moore and sophomore guard Presley Hudson were named to the All-Mid-American Conference first team Tuesday afternoon.

It was the first time in CMU history that two players were selected to the first team in the same season.

Along with first team honors, Moore was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year as well. She led the team and the conference in blocks and with a program record 64 this season. Moore was also named to the All-MAC Defensive team as well.

The sophomore Hudson led the Chippewas in scoring averaging 17.3 points per game. She also led the team in assists with five per game and steals at 1.6. In a game against Ball State in January, Hudson scored a program record 43 points. She was also named Freshman of the Year last season.

Sophomore Reyna Frost and senior Jewel Cotton each took home third team honors. Frost led the MAC in rebounding at 11.1 per game and also averaged nine points for the Chippewas.

Cotton, who was named Sixth Player of the Year last season, averaged 11 points per game and six rebounds per contest this season as a starter.

The Chippewas finished the regular season 23-7 overall and 15-3 in the conference en route to their first regular season MAC title since 1984-85. CMU will face Western Michigan in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament Wednesday at noon at Quicken Loans Arena.
