Marcus Keene and Braylon Rayson said before the season started that big things were ahead of them.

The former Texas high school rivals did not disappoint.

In there one season together, Keene and Rayson broke several records and brought national attention to a Central Michigan team that finished in last place in the MAC West Division.

On Monday, the two 5-foot-9 guards received All-MAC honors.

Keene not only broke the CMU record for points in a single season, but the MAC record as well (875). The Transfer from Youngstown State became the first player in 20 years to score 40 points or more in six games in a season and scored a McGuirk Arena record 50 points on Jan. 21 against Miami (Oh.).

Keene’s backcourt counterpart, senior Braylon Rayson was selected to the All-MAC Third Team.

The Dallas, Texas native, was second in the conference in points per game (20.9) and had an impressive streak of 12 straight games with at least 20 points or more toward the end of the season.

Rayson scored a career-high 34 points against Ball State on Feb. 18. Rayson broke the program record for career 3-pointers on Feb. 21 with 257.
