Ian Davison, senior vice provost of the academic reorganization initiative, will give a presentation on the university's review and restructuring effort and will respond to questions at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in the Charles V. Park Library Auditorium.

The reorganization initiative was added to the updated academic strategic plan in August. The initiative will review and restructure Central Michigan University’s administrative and academic structure. The review is said to be completed by January.

Davison said the presentation will be the same one he gave to the Academic Senate on Sept. 26 regarding the review process for academic restructuring. The presentation is available to view on the Academic Senate’s website.

"The presentation will explain the rationale for the review, the scope and how it will be conducted," Davison said.

He said the purpose of the forum is to give students, faculty and staff a chance to understand the review process and to ask any questions they may have.

The event is free and open to faculty, staff and students.

Davison was appointed the position as senior vice provost by President George Ross and Provost Michael Gealt because of his experience with combining CMU’s Office of Research and College of Graduate Studies in 2014. Davison’s role is to oversee three committees to understand how CMU compares to other universities and how to improve academics to give students the best education possible.
