Well everyone, it’s that time of the year again. The leaves are falling, the weather is cooling down and your sanity is rapidly vanishing. Don’t lose hope yet, though. There are a few hidden gems in the mid-Michigan area to get you out of your funk and into the fall spirit. Here’s the list of fun fall things to do in Mount Pleasant:

  1. Papa’s Pumpkin Patch
Ballin’ on a budget but still looking for fun? Papa’s Pumpkin Patch is the perfect way to kick off your fall adventures. You can enjoy all Papa’s has to offer including picking the perfect pumpkin, finding your way through the corn maze, hanging out with some cool animals and snacking on some fall favorites. Bonus: it’s right down the street on Summerton Road!
  2. Rent a scary movie
Your definition of “scary” may be different than mine, but either way there’s tons of movie options out there to get in the Halloween spirit. Grab some candy corn, some hot cider and fuzzy socks, and enjoy a spooky night in. After all, you don’t mooch off your parents’ Netflix and Hulu logins to not watch the hundreds of movies available.
Suggested:Halloween,” “The Conjuring,” “The Cabin in the Woods” and “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”
  3. Uncle John’s Cider Mill
The ultimate combination of fall festivities can be found at Uncle John’s Cider Mill in Saint Johns. If you’re looking for an apple cider with a kick, take a ride down 127 and try out the award-winning Uncle John’s Hard Cider. While you’re there, check out the corn maze, pick some juicy apples and enjoy Uncle John’s doughnuts and caramel apples. This is the perfect place for groups of 2 or 20 people. A trip to the cider mill is the cherry on top of a great fall season.
  4. Terror on 27
If you thought writing a 10 page paper the night before it’s due was scary, you obviously haven’t been to Terror on 27 yet. This haunted house and corn maze attraction is open all season long and is sure to scare the mid-semester stress right out of you. Grab some friends and head down to Terror on 27 for a crazy creepy time.
  5. Visit a local brewery
Here in Mount Pleasant, we’re more than just cheap beer. If you’re in the mood for a unique beverage, there are plenty of places to visit in town. Mountain Town Station/Taproom and Hunter’s Ale House are both high-quality breweries to try out during the fall season. Not many things go together better than Autumn and some good ‘ol ales, so why not stop by a local brewery today?
