Oliver named MAC Wrestler of the Week
Junior 149-pound wrestler Justin Oliver has been named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week.
Oliver finished first place in his weight class during Sunday's Michigan State Open. Oliver went 4-0, knocking off Ryan Deakin of Northwestern in the championship match, 4-3.
This is Oliver's second career first place finish at the MSU Open, going 4-0 in last seasons tournament in East Lansing.
Oliver remains sixth in the nation according to InterMat, a site that ranks college teams and wresters.
Central Michigan wrestling competes at the Eastern Michigan Open starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. Oliver finished second in last year's EMU open.
