Moore Hall Television was named "College Television Station of the Year" by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation.

The award is presented to the station with the most cumulative points in all categories entered. MHTV placed in eight of the 10 MABF categories.

Central Michigan University's student-run 24-hour cable outlet is broadcasted to the CMU campus network on channel 26.2, and the Mount Pleasant community on channel 189.

“Receiving this honor for an unprecedented 17 years is certainly a point of pride for our students, faculty and staff,” said Rick Sykes, broadcasting faculty member and News Central 34 advisor, in a University Communications press release. “The competition is ever more intense, and our students continue to produce programming that catches the attention of industry leaders.”

MHTV took first place in awards for current events program, innovations in digital media and public service announcement. It earned second place in daily sportscast, hard news and sports announcing team, and received honorable mentions in daily newscast and talk show/scripted show.
