Trustees to discuss nursing degree, president search at April meeting

The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees will participate in committee meetings April 18 before its formal meeting at 8:30 a.m. April 19 in the President’s Conference Room in Bovee University Center.

According to the formal meeting agenda, the board will vote on the authorization of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, establish room and board rates for the 2018-19 academic year and vote to adopt the Leadership Profile to be used in the search for CMU’s next president.

A debrief of the March 2 double homicide in Campbell Hall will include Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services Barrie Wilkes, CMU Police Chief Bill Yeagley and Associate Vice President for University Communications Sherry Knight.

Committee meetings take place from 2-6 p.m. April 18 in the President’s Conference Room.

The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet from 2-2:50 p.m. to discuss the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan for 2018-2022 and receive updates on the Academic Organizational Review. 

The Finance and Facilities Committee will meet from 3-3:50 p.m. to talk about the university fuel station, scholarships and room and board rates.

The Trustees-Faculty Liaison Committee will meet from 4-5 p.m. for a Point of Pride presentation from Teacher Education and Professional Development faculty member Kevin Cunningham. Cunningham will explain the work the STEM Education Scholars program has done in the past year.

The Trustees-Student Liaison Committee will meet from 5-6 p.m. for a report from Student Government Association President Anna Owens. The Board will also be introduced to SGA President-Elect Jake Hendricks as well as Program Board and Residence Hall Assembly leadership.
