With four days left until Central Michigan football's season opener against Kentucky, the Chippewas have released its first depth chart of the 2018 season.

The most intriguing factor of the depth chart is the safety position, which features two true freshmen in Devonni Reed and Alonzo McCoy.

Brandon Childress and Jamil Sabbagh have emerged as the starting wide receivers with Cameron Cole following behind.

CMU's offensive line lists two underclassmen - redshirt freshman Jamezz Kimbrough at right guard and sophomore Derek Smith at left tackle. The defensive line, however, features two seniors and two juniors.

Redshirt sophomore Tony Poljan has officially secured the No. 1 quarterback position, and Tommy Lazzaro managed to remain in the No. 2 spot despite a push from third-string redshirt freshman Austin Hergott.

Jonathan Ward, a junior, is the starting running back. Redshirt sophomore Kumehnnu Gwilly is listed as No. 2 ahead of redshirt junior Romello Ross.

Members of special teams include punter Jack Sheldon, kicker Michael Armstrong, kick off specialist Kaden Keon, long snapper Luke Idoni, punt returner Sabbagh and kick returner Jerrod Davis.

The Chippewas and Wildcats begin their game at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 1 at Kroger Field.
