Central Michigan University’s annual Siblings Weekend will be held Friday, Jan. 25 through Saturday, Jan. 26 this year.

The event is expected to have over 1,000 participants, similar to last year’s numbers.

“It’s an event that brings people to the campus so they can get a taste of what it’s like to be on a college campus,” said Siblings Weekend coordinator and graduate assistant Girard Brown.

Brown said students can register cousins and friends for the weekend as well, not just siblings.

The registration prices for siblings and other participants is $35 each. After the first two, each additional sibling is only $20.

Registration is free for CMU students with siblings attending. Students who don't have siblings attending, but still wish to take part in the weekend's activities, can pay a $10 fee to attend. For parents who wish to attend, the registration fee is $20.

Online registration has been open since Dec. 18 and will close on Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. Attendees can also register at the event in the Finch Fieldhouse, on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

Each participant will one shirt as part of their registration fee, but additional shirts can be purchased for $10 each.

Meal plans for the campus dining halls are optional and offered with an additional fee. Meal Plan A includes three meal tickets for $20 and Meal Plan B includes two meal tickets for $15.

Every CMU student and sibling are eligible to receive one special event ticket, given on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents and other guests are ineligible to receive special event tickets.

During check-in, every participant will receive a wristband that must be worn at all times to attend events, unless specified.
